The 14th Annual Doc Larsen Roundball classic was created by Wasilla coach Jeannie Hebert. Hebert led her Wasilla squad to another state title in 2024, her 7th as a coach. Add 6 runner-up state title appearances, and no one comes close to her level of success.

Although this year doesn't feature an out of state competitor on the girl's side, the event has brought in quite a few. In 2022 powerhouse Sierra Canyon came, starring phenom JuJu Watkins (now with USC).

Oregon Episcopal boys team, led by former UAA All-American Ed Kirk is the featured out of state competitor.
