Preparing For Camp

AT PROSPECT ATHLETICS, WE WANT TO MAXIMIZE YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCE, WHICH MEANS COMING TO CAMP PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY PREPARED. HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:

MENTALITY:
Come into camp with a willingness to learn and adjust your game. Drop you comparisons and expectations and focus on growing as a player and person these next few days.

Clinics should be about maximizing your learning experience through hustle, making mistakes, and asking questions! Don't be afraid to asky why we do what we do. The more questions you ask, the more you'll take away from your experience.

NOURISHMENT:

You'll be exerting a lot of energy at this clinic, and the stacked hours of activity are eventually going to wear on you. Make sure to stay hydrated, drinking at least 10-12 ounces of water between sessions. Avoid drinks with high sugar content such as powerade and Gatorade– Their nutritional value is not nearly as beneficial as water!

Eating heathy meals before, during and after sessions are going to increase your chances of success. Filling up on empty calories are going to tire you out quicker. Try to eat a balance of protien, carbs, and live fruits and vegetables to give you the wholesome energy your body needs as an athlete.

Quick, Healthy Snacks For a Boost of Energy

Smoothie with whey protein

Cup of almonds or walnuts

Veggies or rice cakes with hummus

Oatmeal with berries

Sliced fruit with peanut butter

Along with hydration and nutrition, sleep is an imperative asset to successful play. Try to get at least 8- to 9-hours of sleep before each clicic day. We expect athletes to be well rested so as to get the maximum benefit of each session.

CODE OF CONDUCT:
At Prospect Athletics, we believe in treating every player with respect. As athletes, you should feel obligated to do the same. Consider the time and energy your fellow players and trainers are using to attend the clinic.

Make sure to pick up your teammates and encourage them to perform at their maximum effort. You won't get any better by going through the motions. Push your hardest and get the most out your training.
