Friday, March 20, 2026 | UAA Alaska Airlines Center
Ashton Clarkson had nine points at halftime. He had 10 more before the third quarter was over.
Grace Christian seized control in the third, outscoring Lathrop 14–8 to turn a slim halftime edge into a 13-point cushion. Brayden Clarkson banked in a three midway through the fourth to end any remaining doubt. The brothers combined for 39 points and Grace Christian beat Lathrop 66–51 in the 4A Boys Semifinal at March Madness Alaska 2026. Saturday night, they play for a title.
Ashton led with 29 on a night where Grace needed every one of them. Tobin finished with 11, Chris Jones contributed 10 before fouling out, and Blake Boerger hit two threes off the bench. Brayden went 5-of-8 from the line and finished with 10. Seven Grizzlies scored.
Armani Smith made sure it wasn't comfortable. The Lathrop senior finished with 27 — 14 in the fourth quarter, 9-for-9 from the free throw line. He kept the Malemutes within reach deep into the second half. Grace's lead held because their depth held.
Lathrop reached the state semifinals for the first time since 2004 and the tournament itself for the first time since 2015. They went further in March than they had in over two decades. That's not a footnote — that's a foundation.
For Grace, this is year 14 in a row at the state tournament — 12 at 3A, now two at 4A. First time at this level they're playing for a championship.
Final: Grace Christian 66, Lathrop 51 (4A Boys Semifinal)
