2A Boys Semifinal | Ninilchik Controls Wire to Wire, Advances to Title Game

The Wolverines wasted no time. Ninilchik jumped out to a 21-9 first-quarter lead and never surrendered it, beating Metlakatla 49-32 to advance to the 2A boys championship game.

Onyx Allen was the engine, finishing with 17 points on five threes. When Metlakatla threatened in the third quarter and trimmed the lead, Allen answered with two more threes in the fourth to push it back out and put the game away. Kade McCorison — a 2,000-point senior — added 14 points and continues to be the program's anchor in what has been a historic career.

Ninilchik's defense was the other story. The Wolverines held Metlakatla to single digits in two of four quarters and limited a Chiefs team that had fought through the bracket to just 32 points on the night.

Gianni Scudero-Hayward led Metlakatla with 13. Brothers Rocco and Cruz Lindsey combined for 15, with Cruz knocking down two threes. The Chiefs made it competitive in the second and third quarters but couldn't generate enough offense to close the gap.

Ninilchik advances to 25-3 and plays for the 2A state title.
