3A Boys Semifinal | Herrmann Carries Edgecumbe in Battle of the Bridge | March Madness Alaska 2026

Sitka had been here before. So had Mt. Edgecumbe junior guard Kaden Herrmann. Last year the Wolves knocked Edgecumbe out in this exact spot. Thursday night, Herrmann made sure it ended differently.
Down three heading into the fourth quarter, Mt. Edgecumbe opened with a 12-2 run that flipped the game in minutes. Herrmann was the engine — 18 of his 26 points came in the second half, and when Sitka had no choice but to foul, he went 7-of-8 from the line and didn't flinch. He finished with 26 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Player of the Game. Edgecumbe is back in the 3A Boys title game.
Xavier Gundersen added 11 and Guy Goldsberry chipped in 9. Colton McGraw kept Sitka alive with 11 and three threes before fouling out. Trey Johnson had 17 and fouled out too. The Wolves had the lead, the momentum, and a gym that felt like theirs. The fourth quarter took all of it back.
Saturday is Barrow. These two programs met once this season — Barrow won 83-73 in January on the road. Mt. Edgecumbe hasn't forgotten. Neither has Herrmann.
