4A Girls Championship | Mountain City's Moment | March Madness Alaska 2026
Saturday, March 21, 2026 | UAA Alaska Airlines Center
Mountain City Christian Academy came in as the top seed with the Gatorade Player of the Year, a junior who had been the best player on the floor all tournament, and two seniors playing their final games as Lions. They left with a 55-45 win over Bartlett and the program's ten state championships, third at the 4A level.
Brooklynn Ridgeway was the engine all night. The junior scored 22 points and earned Player of the Game honors while her father Lonnie coached from the sideline they have shared since she was in junior high. Lonnie won back-to-back 3A boys state titles as a player at Heritage Christian in 2005 and 2006 before playing at UAA. Saturday night he watched his daughter lead a championship run of her own.
Keelie Kronberger closed her high school career the way she opened this tournament. The Gatorade Player of the Year scored 45 in the quarterfinal, 19 in the semifinal, and 20 Saturday night before heading to Oral Roberts University. Jasmine Schaeffer grew up in Noatak, a village 70 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and came to MCCA as a freshman. Before the tournament she sat down with Prospect and said it simply: "I know I represent my community." She finished with 6 points in her final game as a Lion before heading to Northwest Nazarene. With 16.9 seconds left and the title secure, she and Kronberger came off the floor together one last time.
MCCA led 33-20 at halftime and pushed the advantage to 19 in the second half. Bartlett scored 17 in the fourth quarter and made the Lions earn the final margin. Kennedi Gaines finished with 19 and Kaylee Lealaisalanoa added 12. Both sophomores were named to the all-tournament team. Bartlett finished 23-6 with their two best players not yet done with high school.
MCCA finished 28-3. Third 4A title. Ten state championships overall.
Final: MCCA 55, Bartlett 45 (4A Girls Championship)
