Michael Novelli is the co-founder of Prospect Athletics and CEO of Innovate, an Anchorage-based advertising and business consulting firm.
Dedicated to Alaska’s sports scene, Novelli founded the Alaska Football League (AFL) in 1999, the state's first outdoor adult tackle football league. As a player, coach, and leader, he helped the AFL become a launching pad for former high school standouts and aspiring athletes pursuing college and semi-professional careers.
Over two decades with Innovate, Novelli has had roles in other Alaskan sports, working with the Alaska Wild(the state's first professional indoor football team) and spending ten years with the Alaska Fighting Championship, the Alaska's premier mixed martial arts organization.
Beyond business and sports, Novelli is a parent first. With two of his children competing and coaching at the collegiate level and three more active kids under the age of 12, he remains committed to his work with Prospect Athletics. His passion for youth athletics comes from a belief that sports should be about developing young athletes—without politics, bias, adults wanting credit for athletes success, or parents living through their children. That philosophy guided him when he coached his son's youth football team to a perfect 10-0 season, reinforcing his commitment to creating an environment and culture where kids can thrive, compete, and grow through sports.
